The research team from the Koszalin University of Technology and the Maritime Fisheries Institute – National Research Institute received the Mercurius Gedanensis medal at the 15th International Fair of Fish Processing and Products POLFISH 2019 in Gdańsk.

Researchers were awarded in the technology category for designing a vacuum sweeper for whole or headless carps and other fishes. The design and prototype of the device were created as part of the research project “A comprehensive carp processing system for modern food and feed production”.

The project also brought other devices, including carp beheader and fishbones cutter for carp fillets. The devices are provided by the laboratory of the Department of Processes and Equipment of the Food Industry of the Koszalin university. They are used to educate students in the field of Food Technology and Human Nutrition and are made available for tests.
