Scientists from the University of Gdańsk co-financed within the competition of the National Science Center

Four applications of scientists from the University of Gdańsk have received funding within the National Science Center Sonatina 5 competition. The grant of almost PLN 3 million will allow implementing projects in history, biology, chemistry and oceanography. 

Dr Kamil Tomasz Pietrowiak will implement the project “Cooperation of blind people with guide dogs. Cultural and social determinants of interspecies relationship “. Dr Martyna Maria Syposz will deal with her project” Reactions of seabirds to the warming of the Arctic environment”.

Dr Anna Sylwia Piwoni-Piórewicz obtained money for the project “DEEPER – Geochemical and mineralogical variability of calcifying fauna along with the gradient of water saturation with calcium carbonate as a key to understanding the impact of climate change on marine ecosystems”, and Dr Eng. Patrycja Maria Jutrzenka Trzebiatowska will implement the study “Organometallic structures (MOF) as potential catalysts for chemical recycling of polymers”.
