Unemployment during the epidemic remains stable – this is one of the conclusions of the second part of the DIAGNOZA.plus study. The level of unemployment during COVID-19 is being investigated by experts from the Faculty of Economic Sciences and the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw (UW) as well as the GRAPE center and the Center for Social and Economic Research.
The unemployment rate has not increased since the first survey in April and is currently around 5.4%. The registered unemployment is slightly higher than in April, because people are more likely to register in offices.
The respondents who are unemployed are convinced that in order to find a job, they will have to change their qualifications or education and look for a job of a different nature than they used to perform so far. According to the authors of DIAGNOZA.plus, people are now looking for a job, which is closer to home than before or that and which allows them to perform tasks from home.
