Scientists from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology have developed a new method for cooling chemical substances in the process of mixing. The solution avoids overheating and the risk of explosion and was developed together with a company globimi. The solution became immediately interesting for potential investors.
The consequence of intensive mixing of substances is their heating. Heat can be a significant impediment in the process of producing substances such as paints, varnishes, plasters, floors, silicones, pigments or dyes. The mixers used inefficient traditional heat exchangers based on convection-diffusion methods to prevent it.
University of Technology scientists used mixers with local heat collection systems using pulsating tubes. Thanks to them, the heat from the place where it is generated is moved to a phase-change material that can absorb, accumulate and give off a large amount of thermal energy at a constant temperature.
