Scientists of the faculty of political science and journalism of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań are investigating the impact of information in the media on social behaviors during the pandemic.

The main task of the study is the analysis of media messages in publicly available Polish TV news programs and Internet news portals in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic and the verification of their impact on social moods and behavior.

The research will allow to obtain information about the types of emotions under the influence of media messages emitted during the pandemic and to check if and how these emotions influence the decisions and behavior of recipients. The results will be a valuable source of information in the field of media coverage in crisis situations. They can also serve as a specific recommendation on how to communicate a threat in order to not to cause drastic and extreme changes in the mood and behavior of the society.
