Dr Piotr Rzymski head of the Department of Environmental Medicine at the Poznan University of Medical Sciences, and his team received the Tanner’s Award from the American Institute of Food Technologists.

The award-winning work “Potential of cultivated Ganoderma lucidum mushrooms for the production of supplements enriched with essential elements” describes the method of cultivating yellow lacustrine on modified substrates leading to the production of food enriched with selenium, zinc and copper.

The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) grants the prizes to the authors of the best-quoted research papers published in the Journal of Food Science. The award was presented during the nineteenth international IFT convention, which took place in June in New Orleans.
