The number of publications of scientists from Opole University of Technology in the most prestigious world scientific journals has increased by three-fold in last two years. Scientists of the Opole university are most often read by Americans.

According to information from the Scopus database, the world’s largest database indexing scientific publications, the university in Opole recorded a three-fold increase. The analysis of the Web of Science Core Collection database for 2020 shows that scientists from Opole University of Technology were cited over 6.7 thousand times. A year earlier, it was over 30 percent fewer, and five years ago there were less than 2.7 thousand citations.

– For us, the increase in international publications is, of course, prestigious, but it shows also a strong signal that our voice is heard in the global scientific discussion, that we are adding our contribution to it, and that the scientific research conducted at our university is of high quality – says Vice-Rector for Research and Development of the Opole University of Technology Prof. Grzegorz Królczyk.
