Scientists of the University of Economics in Katowice (EU) wrote the article “Relationships between familiness, innovation and organizational performance in Polish family businesses” published in the Creativity and Innovation Management journal.
The authors of the publication are Dr Tomasz Ingram, Prof. Teresa Kraśnicka and Dr Grzegorz Głod are discussing the relationship between family character and organizational effectiveness of Polish family enterprises.
In the conclusions, the scientists stated that high levels of family character in the area of ownership, management and control can lead to the improvement of the company’s condition. High levels of family character of an enterprise are accompanied by statistically lower expenditure on innovative activities.
A high level of family business identity has a positive effect on the number of innovations, and the intergenerational orientation and strong relationships between the family and employees have a negative impact on innovation, informs the university.
