Scientists of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences obtain Sonatina grants

Scientists from the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences obtained grants under the Sonatina, Sonata and Miniatura programs of the National Science Center. They will study the genetics of legumes towards the creation of new varieties and the impact of electromagnetic fields on flax. They will also check how to treat breast cancer more effectively and use brewer’s grain.

Dr Sandra Rychel-Bielska in her research will deal with white lupine and the possibilities of creating new varieties of this protein-rich plant. Dr Marta Preisner will also work on plants – she will analyze the impact of the electromagnetic field on the expression of certain genes.
Dr Jarosław Suchański works on the possibilities of increasing the effectiveness of breast cancer treatment, and Dr Laba works on extracting bioactive substances from brewing wood.
