Economists, philosophers and scholars of the history of these disciplines will meet from 24 to 26 May in Krakow during the second instalment of the World Copernican Congress. The Congress, which began in February in Toruń, has a ‘rolling’ formula and visits the universities that host it.
The programme for the Krakow part will include a philosophical section ‘The Copernican Legacy’ and an economic section ‘Around Money’. The philosophical section will consist of three panels: “Copernicus’ influence: on the evolution of images of the world”; “Revolutions in science” and “The anthropic principle”.
The starting point of the economic section ‘Around Money’ will be a reminder of Copernicus’ treatise ‘Monetae cudendae ratio’, on the value of money and monetary reform.
The organisers promise a discussion on the present and future of monetary policy, with the participation of eminent scholars, economist-practitioners and representatives of major financial institutions.
