The second apiary was located at the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław. Wooden hives were put on the premises of the Faculty of Biology and Animal Husbandry in Biskupin, next to the flower meadow, so that the insects would have a place to eat. This is the result of cooperation between the university and the European Parliament Office in Wrocław.
“Eight bee families lived with us and we created ideal conditions for them. Before the apiary, we sowed a flower meadow so that the bees would not run out of food, they have a mini park next to it, allowing them to be not too hot, because the hives are in a shaded place. In addition, students associated with the APIS Student Beekeepers Science Club provide them with constant supervision and care – says the club’s supervisor.
In the next few days, on the premises of the university apiary, the educational path “Bee Nook” will be built, financed by the European Commission under the Erasmus + program from the international educational project “Beegen. Connecting generations of beekeepers”- informs the university.
