Rzeszów University of Technology (PRz) received 360 thousand PLN from the self-government of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship as financial support for the purchase of a training plane for student pilots. The aircraft needed by the Aviation Training Center (OKL) costs from PLN 1 to 1.5 million. The remaining amount will be allocated by the university from its own resources.
At present, the OKL fleet of the Rzeszów University of Technology consists of 13 aircrafts. The center uses four types of aircrafts for practical training of pilots: single-engine Socata TB-9 “Tampico” (7), single-engine Piper PA-28 “Arrow” (2), twin-engine Piper PA-34 “Seneca V” (3) and the Zlin Z-242L plane (1) adapted to perform air acrobatics.
In the course of the integrated training conducted by OKL, we are lacking such a compact plane – explains Mieczysław Górak, director of the center. These machines are used in the middle stage of training, mainly to fly according to IFR (instrument flight rules) and for training to implement navigation procedures: standard departures, arrivals, approaches and flights with the use of navigation routes.
