Professor Eugeniusz Żukowski from the University of Bialystok will present the results of research on radiation of selected substances with increased radioactivity and natural background measurements. The research was conducted in the laboratories of the Faculty of Physics for many years and they will be presented during the open seminar, which will take place on Tuesday 20 March 2018.

The source of radiation is not only wastes of nuclear medicine or civilization facilities using radiation of various types. Professor Żukowski points out that our natural environment is also slightly radioactive. The source of the natural radiation background is, for example, cosmic radiation, radon in the air or radiation of radioactive elements from soil and water.

The event will take place on March 20, 2018 at 13.15 in room 2011 of the Faculty of Physics of the University of Bialystok.
