Shanghai 2021 Ranking published

ShanghaiRanking Consultancy has published the results of this year’s Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), an international ranking of the top 1000 universities. The highest place among Polish universities within 401-500 range were taken by the University of Warsaw and the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. 

In total, 10 Polish universities were included in the latest ARWU ranking. The positions 701-800 were taken by the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków and the Medical University of Warsaw. Places within the 801-900 range were taken by: Gdańsk University of Technology, Warsaw University of Life Sciences and the Medical University of Wrocław. The last hundred of the ranking (places 901-1000) included the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the Warsaw University of Technology and the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

The ranking takes into account such indicators as: the number of graduates or employees who received the Nobel Prize or the Fields Medal, the number of authors of the most cited works among the staff, the number of articles in the scientific journals “Nature” and “Science”, as well as data on the achievements university publication.

The first two places in the ranking were taken by American universities: Harvard University and Stanford University. The British University of Cambridge came third.
