In December, the Silesian Medical University in Katowice will open the Museum of Medicine and Pharmacy of in Sosnowiec. The subsidy 100,000 PLN for the museum was given by the Mayor of Sosnowiec.

The museum is to serve primarily as a teaching aid for students of medical faculties, and also it will be a perfect complement to knowledge in the history of medicine and pharmacy for the inhabitants of Sosnowiec and pupils of secondary schools. The establishment of the museum will contribute to the popularization of the rich achievements of Silesian medicine and the pioneering achievements of doctors working here.

For several years, the University has been collecting unique exhibits with the intention of showing them at the university museum. In the facility located at ul. Ostrogórska 30 in Sosnowiec, there will be an exhibition of tools and equipment used in the past, a gallery presenting the work of staff in operating rooms and a former pharmacy, where you will be able to see the vessels and tools for making medicines.
