The Academic Aviation Training Centre of the Silesian University of Technology (PŚ) has been equipped with a new twin-engine Tecnam aircraft. Worth more than PLN 3 million, the machine will be used to train students in air navigation and aviation mechanics and operations, the university reports.
“Today, our fleet has been enhanced with another aircraft – a twin-engine Tecnam aircraft, which will be used for advanced pilot training. It is equipped with full avionics for flight, including in difficult conditions. Until now, we had to outsource these trainings, but now we are able to perform them ourselves, at the university”, said the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for General Affairs at the University of Silesia, Professor Bogusław Łazarz.
The new machine will increase the training capacity of the centre. Up to now, the university has been able to carry out around 60% of training on its own, the acquisition of this aircraft will increase the training independence of the University of Technology to around 80%.
