Anti-virus gates developed by scientists of the Silesian University of Technology will be installed in two nursing homes in Bytom, as well as in a night shelter and Bytom Support Center. Anti- virus gates will help staff disinfect the area, which will reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus.
The facilities, where modern gates are installed, employ a total of almost 300 people with 500 places for patients – including those of the highest risk group. The cost of one gate is approx. 25 thousand PLN
The first anti- virus gate was installed in Specialist Hospital no. 1 in spring. It enables medical personnel to disinfect their protective suits. The prototype of the device was constructed by employees and graduates of the Silesian University of Technology and the technological start-up WAAM. The invention of Silesian scientists reached the final of the Healing Solutions For Tourism Challenge competition, defeating a thousand teams from 100 countries in the world.
