A test production line – the Industry 4.0 Technology Testing Centre – has been opened at the Silesian University of Technology. The line, developed by APA Group, demonstrates various aspects of the production process using Industry 4.0 technologies.

Located at the Silesian University of Technology’s Centre for New Technologies, the line simulates the welding process, but also enables the testing of safety systems, IT systems, production programming, production system modelling, data processing and the use of data to improve processes.  

“The opening of this line is one of the most important elements of developing the industry’s technology for the future, as well as building the competencies of our research teams, students, future employees. It is also an opportunity for the university to cooperate extensively with the socio-economic environment, with high-tech companies”, says the rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk.
