08.10.2021

The European Center of Innovative Technologies for Health was opened in Zabrze. It is one of the key and most important investments of this type in Central and Eastern Europe. The center is a joint project of the Silesian University of Technology, the City of Zabrze and Philips.

The Center is an independent unit established within the Silesian University of Technology. Its key tasks will include conducting scientific research, postgraduate studies, development and implementation of modern technologies and medical devices to improve prevention, early diagnosis and effective treatment of diseases.

Innovative research will be focused on artificial intelligence, telemedicine and clinical computer science. The Silesian University of Technology has extensive experience in this field, because the only Polish faculty of Biomedical Engineering has operated here for 10 years, specializing in such technologies as biomaterials, biosensors and biomechatronics.
