Center for Science Popularization and the University Council of the PhD Students of the Silesian University of Technology invite participants on Saturday, November 24 to the Three Minute Thesis final – a global competition in science communication licensed by the University of Queensland in Australia.
The young popularizers of science will try to prove in their presentations that the complex topic of scientific research can be presented in an interesting way, within three minutes only. From the presentation held at the Mrowisko Student Culture Center students will be able to find out whether plants can have complexes, what is the concrete of the 21st century and whether chemical compounds have potential.
Three Minute Thesis competition was first held in 2008 and so far it was organized by 600 universities and institutions in 59 countries. The winner of last year’s final held at the Silesian University of Technology, Małgorzata Krystek from the building department, was invited to the nationwide final of the contest FameLab.
