The Laboratory of Modern Rail Traffic Management Systems was officially opened at the Faculty of Transport and Aeronautical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology. This is the most modern facility of this type in Poland. It will serve to educate students, conduct post-graduate studies and courses as well as train and test the professional skills of railway workers.
The laboratory contains 6 computer traffic control stations and a computer surveillance station. Students will be able to use the model with 4 railroad crossings, 255 semaphores, 115 switches, 12 traffic posts, 3 branch posts, 1 passing point, 2 viaducts and 8 stations.
