The spin-off Solar System Resources Corporation originating from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków and the American company US Nuclear Corp. signed a letter of intent for the supply of the rare helium-3 isotope from deposits located on the Moon.
The Earth’s resources of this “cosmic element” are depleted, but its lunar deposits are estimated at millions of tons.
Helium-3 is a hope for cheap, ecological fusion energy without the production of radioactive waste. It is estimated that 200 tons of helium-3 would be enough to meet the global annual energy needs of all mankind without producing greenhouse gases and pollution. Helium-3 also extends to many applications beyond energy industry including: research, cryogenics, quantum computers, and MRI lung imaging.
Solar System Resources Corporation Sp. z o. o. specializes in space mining. The co-founder and president of the board of Solar System Resources Corporation is Dr Eng. Adam Jan Zwierzyński, Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas, AGH.
US Nuclear Corp. is an American nuclear corporation that is a spin-off of the Manhattan Engineer District. It participates in the most advanced projects of the US government and army.
