The Top 2% Most Influential Scientists list is compiled by California-based Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier publishing and SciTech Strategies. Researchers from around the world are included in the list. It is compiled on the basis of their scientific output, and evaluation criteria include the number of citations by other authors, the Hirsch index or the position and role of the researcher in the list of authors of publications.
Stanford University produces two types of ranking. The first takes into account the achievements of a researcher’s entire career (until the end of 2021), while the second relates to citations from a given calendar year, in this case 2021. A total of 53 researchers from the Gdansk University of Technology are on both lists.
