The Student Research Group of the American Society of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) at the Institute of Geology of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań won the Outstanding Region Student Chapter Award 2020.
It is an award for the most active club in the world (except for the USA). The assessment covers organization of lectures, participation of club members in competitions and organization of field trips.
The Poznań club has been operating since 2012, at that time it hosted experts from around the world who conducted lectures and workshops in the field of petroleum geology and related sciences. The club also organizes domestic and foreign trips to geologically important regions, as well as to industrial facilities related to the exploration and extraction of oil and gas.
AAPG is the most numerous organization in the world associating specialists in the field of geology – scientists, employees of companies exploring and exploiting mineral resources, students and enthusiasts.
