Weronika Muszyńska, student of the Faculty of Metal Engineering and Computer Science at AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, has built a replica of the BB-8 robot appearing in the latest parts of the Star Wars saga, as part of her engineering work.

She designed “BB-8 mobile robot and implementation of control software” and thus replicated the droid in 1: 1 scale, using parts printed in 3D technology.

Her model can move, and the user is able to manage it using a specially written application and software prepared by the constructor.

BB-8 moves in the same way as its film prototype.
