Jan Witowski, a sixth-year student of the medical faculty of the Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum in Krakow, is listed in this year’s “30 before 30” ranking of Forbes magazine. This prestigious prize was awarded to him for research on the application of new methods of spatial visualization, in particular 3D printing, which he runs at the Faculty of Medicine.
“30 before 30” is an award to distinguish those young scientists who achieved success in various industries before the age of 30.
24-year-old Jan Witowski is the youngest in the ranking. He conducts his work in the Second Department of General Surgery under the supervision of Dr Michał Pędziwiatr. He developed the cheapest method of performing 3D liver models, which can significantly reduce the costs of complicated operations of the body, and thus support the process of the treatment.
