Student of the Nicolaus Copernicus University becomes a laureate of the Scholarship of the Cultural Heritage Foundation

Zuzanna Jarmulska, a student at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń is this year’s laureate of the Scholarship of the Cultural Heritage Foundation. The winner is studying the conservation and restoration of works of art in the fifth year (specializing in conservation and restoration of stone sculpture and architectural detail).

The student was awarded for the implementation of the diploma thesis, the subject of which is a seventeenth-century crucifix made of alabaster, from a valuable epitaph altar in the church in Ryńsk. Work on the subject required understanding the art of preservation of monuments and knowledge of the historical context of the creation of a work of art and stylistic analysis.

The Cultural Heritage Foundation was established in 2012 at the initiative of Dr Michał Laszczkowski and Paweł Wilski. Its aim is to protect and promote Polish national heritage as an element of the European cultural heritage.
