Anita Kowalczyk, a student of biotechnology and molecular diagnostics at the faculty of biology and environmental protection at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń was qualified to the BioLAB Program of the Polish-American Fulbright Commission.
During her trip to the United States, she will take a paid internship at the University of Chicago running her project “Role of bile acids in bacterial colonization and host immunity”, which will be carried out in the laboratory of Prof. Bana Jabri in 2019-2020. Chicago University took 9th place in the latest Times Higher Education ranking – World University Rankings.
Anita Kowalczyk qualified for the program by participation in the projects “Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi as vectors of plant viruses (MYCOVIR)” and “BETAMIKRO – microbiome of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris) and its interactions with host”, as well as participation in numerous conferences and other achievements.
