Klaudia Szala, a student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences of the Poznań University of Life Sciences, becomes a laureate of the Diamond Grant competition organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Thanks to the grant, a Poznań student will implement the project “The role of pigmentation of egg shells in sexual selection: is the intensity of pigmentation an indicator of the condition of the female and affects the amount of male parental investment? (on the example of red-backed shrike Lanius collurio)”.
Winners of the competition will receive up to 220 thousand PLN for their research. They will be able to receive a salary of up to PLN 2,500 per month for a period of 24 to 48 months. In addition, they can apply for a doctorate without completing a master’s thesis. Candidates must find a supervisor and the institution in which they will implement their project.
