Angelika Zajdlic, a student of painting and interdisciplinary projects and art education at the University of Silesia in Katowice, took the 3rd place in the Zalando Lounge design competition “My symbol of joy”. The participants’ task was to create a pattern for a material bag that would remind them about relax during daily activities.

– My intention was to transfer a particle of nature. The initial phase of the projects consisted of processing bird silhouettes into artistic creation. Thanks to the variety of forms and selection, the illustration has gained the character of a colorful, decisive game – says the winner.

Some participants of the competition were looking for a remedy for a stressful lifestyle, others criticized modern stress through art. The work of a Katowice student was appreciated by the jury due to the symbolism of freedom, colors and practicality.
