Martyna Dziakowicz, a second-year student at the University of Wrocław, has advanced to the national final of FameLab, an international competition for scientists organized by the Copernicus Science Center.
The task of people taking part in the competition is to tell within 3 minutes what they are doing scientifically and they must do it in a comprehensible, accessible and interesting way. This year, the national finals offer the statutory prizes, participation in the international FameLab International final in Cheltenham and a three-month scholarship in the US funded by the Kosciuszko Foundation.
Currently, Martyna Dziakowicz is conducting research in the Department of Cellular Genetics and Physiology, as part of her master’s thesis. During the semi-finals FameLab she gave the speech “Hidden truth, or the adventures of the genome”, which concerned the existence of the so-called Junk DNA.
