Maciej Hamulak, a student of mechanics and machine construction of the West Pomeranian University of Technology took the third place in the 18th SOLIDWORKS Student Design Competition – the oldest and most prestigious competition for young engineers.

Various works are submitted for the competition, including everyday products, furniture, tools to complex machines and vehicles. The laureate designed a vertical CNC milling machine (digitally controlled) that enables machining of flat and shaped surfaces such as grooves or threads in details of any material.

The competition organized by DPS Software is attended by students who use SOLIDWORKS software for designing to generate the spatial geometry of the designed detail. The organizers do not impose project topics – they all depend on the imagination and creativity of the participants.
