Karolina Gardzilewicz from the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław won the Rectors’ Prize in the Best Design Diplomas competition of the Academy of Fine Arts, “Design ’32”. The honorary distinction was awarded to Agnieszka Piotrowska from the department of graphics and media art.
Karolina Gardzilewicz’s award-winning work is “The Washroom. Utility object”. The jury appreciated referring to the significant problem of the lack of water. The project was seen as a comprehensive response to important environmental issues. The jury emphasized the respect for the material, attention to detail, consistency of form and function, as well as the use of natural technology and handicraft.
Agnieszka Piotrowska won an honorary mention for the work “Visual identity of the Geological Museum in Wrocław”. In this case, the jury appreciated the artistic grace, interesting design and its concise, witty concept and readability.
