Students from the Institute of Art History of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) in Warsaw took part in the implementation of the international project “Synagogue in Oni (Georgia) – traces of Polish and Georgian heritage in Israel”.
The organizer of the initiative was the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva (Israel), the State University in Tbilisi (Georgia), Polish Institutes in Tbilisi and Tel Aviv and the Polish Modern Art Foundation.
The goal of the project was to inventory the synagogue in Oni together with the cemetery. In Israel, the students did art works that will soon become their joint artistic memory sign.
