Students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation of the Gdańsk University of Technology, Filip Łojczyk, Adam Litwin and Igor Marciniak, have developed a design and pilot station for monitoring the parameters of a bee hive.

Students created a system for performing remote temperature and humidity measurements inside the hive in connection with continuous monitoring of its weight. Measurement data allow for the development of precise methods for remote assessment of the condition of bee colonies, and as a result of their better protection and counteracting the worrying decline in their numbers, which has been observed all over the world for over a dozen years.

Data is collected and archived on the central server, and the dedicated application allows quick access and detailed analysis of the conditions prevailing in the bee colony. Ultimately, the developed system will also enable long-term statistics of data.
