Elżbieta Lubacha and Tomasz Dranicki, students of international relations at the Naval Academy in Gdynia, advanced to the finals of the international competition “NATO Debates Championships”. The finals will take place from 17 to 19 June in Brussels.
The organizers of the competition are George Washington University and the Egmont Royal Institute for International Relations in Brussels. They invited dozens of universities from around the world to participate in the project. The task of the students was to prepare the film material on the subject: “Should the NATO allies commit to at least 2% of their GDPs on defense?”
The jury chose best elaborated answers and invited students and staff from 7 universities to the finals. The finalists include the Naval Academy, Canadian Carleton University, French Ecole de Guerre, Belgian College of Europe and Ghent University, University of Bath from Great Britain, Italian University of Bologna and University of Macedonia.
