Jakub Mariusz Rosik and Filip Machaj, students of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, won the Diamond Grant competition organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Apart from the financial benefits for the project, the Diamond Grant also creates the possibility of preparing a doctoral dissertation in advance. Jakub Rosik’s project “Identification of epigenetic changes determining the clinical course of multiple myeloma” as well as Filip Machaj’s project “Identification of genomic epigenetic changes preceding the development of breast cancer” received funding in the amount of PLN 220,000.
Both competition projects will be carried out in the Independent Clinical Epigenetics Laboratory under the supervision of Dr Tomasz K. Wojdacz. The studio was funded in 2019 with the “Polish Returns” grant awarded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange.
