Students of the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw (WMIM UW) took the fourth place and won a gold medal in this year’s Academic World Championships in Team Programming, which took place in Porto. At the same competition, the 6th position and silver medal was received by the team of the University of Wroclaw.
The gold medals under the Championships are awarded to the four best teams. The winners of places from 5 to 8 are awarded with silver medals, while the bronze ones are awarded to teams that took places from 9 to 12.
In the 43rd International Collegiate Programming Contest, 135 teams took part from the world. Students of the University of Warsaw University of Science and Technology Jakub Boguta, Konrad Paluszek and Mateusz Radecki solved eight out of eleven tasks prepared by the organizers.
This year’s world champion became a team from the Moscow State University before the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Tokyo University.
