Young designers of the Wrocław University of Science Technology have won a special sponsorship award in the Student Formula competition in the United States. The PWR Racing Team PWR race car took 17th place in the general classification for 120 starting teams from around the world.

Students presented the conceptual and technological perspective, a cost estimation and a business plan of their project to a potential car manufacturing company. In the practical part the car made the 22 km route (Endurance) and raced on time (Autocross). The final score also included the fuel consumption during the race (Efficiency), acceleration on a straight stretch of 75 m (Acceleration) and the passage of the car on a tight eight-track (Skidpad).

The Student Formula competition has been organized for 40 years on the most famous tracks in the world – Hockenheimring, Silverstone, or Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The jury include experts from large automotive concerns.
