Students of the research club “Płomień” operating at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, constructed a photovoltaic station equipped with a part for the production, storage and management of hydrogen. Young engineers also test the efficiency of the panels depending on the natural dirt, shade or temperature of the panels.
The stand consists of four panels and an internal part, i.e. an electrical cabinet with an inverter, two batteries and measuring equipment, thanks to which it is possible to track in real state, among others, the voltage and current produced by the panels. The creators of the station connected to it a hydrogen system they constructed.
Currently, the biggest barrier to the development of RES installations is the instability of energy sources and overload in the distribution network. The possibility of producing hydrogen at the times of the highest energy production from RES, while storing it in a safe and efficient way, is an ideal solution to this problem.
