Students of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology from the Academic Aviation Club (AKL) successfully competed at an international competition in the USA. They won a gold and two silver medals in the general classifications of the competition.
‘We are very pleased with the results and aware of how much work and effort we have put into the whole project, which was SAE Aero Design’, stresses Nikodem Perła, vice-president of AKL.
‘We have managed to unlock the full potential of our designs and are once again returning to Poland as the most successful team in the world”, he adds.
The SAE Aero Design West international aerial design competition was held in Fort Worth, Texas. More than 30 student teams from the United States, Canada, India, China, Egypt, Mexico, Spain and Poland competed with their unmanned aircraft. Three competitions were held – Regular, Micro and Advanced, which differed in the requirements the aircraft had to meet.
