The project “Information system for the analysis of the bibliography of Polish scientific texts” prepared by Dr Przemysław Korytkowski, Prof. of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin was the winner of the programme “Science for Society II” and won funding in the amount of PLN 1,735,800.00.
As part of the project, the university, in collaboration with the Information Processing Centre National Research Institute, will develop an IT system and algorithms using artificial intelligence methods, machine learning methods and natural language processing to automatically extract citations from footnotes from scientific texts in Polish.
The system developed in the project will be made available to the academic and publishing community under an open licence. Its use will contribute to increasing the visibility of the achievements of Polish researchers by enriching bibliographic resources with metadata of Polish publications.
