Next year Szczecin university will award the prize of Joanna Kulmowa – a poetess, author of theatre pieces and books for children. It will be awarded to authors of children’s literature with high artistic and educational values.

This is a joint initiative of the University of Szczecin, the City of Szczecin and the Szczecin Artistic Agency. The aim of the Award is to promote authors who in the given year refer to the highly artistic achievements of Joanna Kulmowa.

Joanna Kulmowa was honoured with Medal of National Education, Medal of Korczak, Medal of the Polish Section IBBY for lifetime achievement for children, Order of Smile, Award of the President of the Republic of Poland “Young Art”, Special Award of the Foundation „Poland reads to children”, Pegasus Award in the category of children’s book for “opening children to the world of dreams , sensitivity”.
