Natalia Paszek, PhD student from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology, won in the university final of the 3MT competition – Three Minute Thesis by telling the jury her three-minute long story about the concrete of the 21st century.

The final of the competition was organized by the Center for Popularization of Science and the University Council of PhD Students.10 PhD students from several faculties of the Silesian University of Technology qualified to the final. Each of them had to stand up at the Student Cultural Center “Mrowisko” and tell the audience about their scientific research. The participants had 3 minutes for this and they had to do it in an interesting and accessible way for non- scientists recipients.

This year’s competition was won by Natalia Paszek with the presentation “Geopolimer – concrete of the 21st century” concerning the construction material created mostly from waste. She also won the audience award.
