A scientific team led by the director of the Silesian Cyber Science Centre for Legal Engineering, Technology and Digital Competence – Dr Dariusz Szostek from the University of Silesia, has received an award for the best monograph in 2021 related to new technologies. 

The publication ‘Legal tech. How to safely use IT tools in an organisation, including a law firm and a legal department’ was recognised in the competition of the 8th Electronic Media Law Forum.

The awarded publication is a comprehensive discussion of the problem of combining the law of new technologies with the work of a lawyer. The legal problems addressed are intertwined with technical issues that affect the understanding of law. The book consists of three parts: a theoretical and legal one, a practical commentary and a futurological outline.
