The Andrzej Wajda Film Center of the University of Gdańsk inaugurated its activity

The University of Gdańsk has launched the Andrzej Wajda Film Center. The task of the Center is to continue the film studies tradition dating back to the 1970s at the University of Gdańsk, as well as to coordinate the already existing, various activities related to film culture and to develop new ones. 

One of the activities of the Center will be film production – initially carried out by students of film faculties of the university, within or outside of classes. The Center is planning the development of the technical base: an assembly studio, a film studio, a camera and a lighting park.

The Center will organize film screenings, exhibitions and film education, it will also launch its own Film Club with a film offer for all residents of the Tri-City. It will also support publishing, with particular emphasis on the development of the “film line”. In addition, the Center will organize scientific conferences devoted to film and audiovisual culture.
