The ceremony of signing and laying the foundation act for the construction of the STOS PG Competence Center took place on the campus of the Gdańsk University of Technology. The investment will be ready at the latest by the middle of next year.
The CK STOS building will be a smart facility equipped with the latest generation technical and network infrastructure. The most important element of the center will be a “bunker” – a server room, which is to meet the highest data security standards and will be equipped with a supercomputer.
CK STOS will be the new seat of the Tricity Academic Computer Network and will create conditions for the implementation of research projects for the academic community in Pomerania. It will also support companies and the socio-economic environment of the university in the implementation of large business projects. It will be used in scientific research in the field of e.g. physics, chemistry, astronomy, biotechnology and medicine, as well as implementation research for the commercialization of science.
