The latest CWTS Leiden Ranking has been published. This year’s ranking includes 1,225 universities from 69 countries. The ranking is created solely on the basis of bibliometric data available in the Web of Science database, divided into scientific areas.
The ranking does not use subjective indicators that define, for example, the prestige of a university (measured, for example, by the opinions of students, graduates, employers). For the last three years, it has been presenting the results in four categories: (1) scientific impact, (2) open access, (3) collaboration, (4) participation of women in research achievements. (gender).
The Jagiellonian University in Krakow was ranked 250th in the scientific impact category. The University of Warsaw was ranked 453 and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków was ranked 520.
In the categories of open access and collaboration, the Jagiellonian University took 275th place, University of Warsaw – 410 and AGH – 561. In the gender category, the Jagiellonian University was ranked 188th, the Medical University of Warsaw was ranked 402nd, and the University of Warsaw was ranked 431st.
