The Scientific Publisher of the Academy of Technology and Humanities in Bielsko-Biała published a scientific monograph entitled Milosz. Meetings. Miloszological studies and dissertations. In the review, Prof. Zofia Zarębianka from the Jagiellonian University wrote that the publication “is a cognitively valuable proposition, not deprived of innovative approaches and interpretations”.
The author of the monograph is Prof. Marek Bernacki, involved in the works of Czesław Miłosz for many years. The first part of the monograph contains interpretations of known works of the Polish Nobel Prize winner (including the poem My Faithful Speech). The author discussed the poetical and philosophical considerations of the poet and his attitude towards the idea of Central Europe (Mitelleuropa). The second part is devoted to Miłosz’s relations with other writers (including Zbigniew Herbert) and people who significantly influenced his life (Leopold Chomski, Jerzy Turowicz).
