The third Polish-German Scientific Meeting organised by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, the Foundation for Polish Science and the National Science Centre took place in Berlin.
The main topics of the meeting were the current global political crises and their impact on scientific research in Germany and Poland, as well as possible handling strategies.
Representatives from 17 research institutions and funding organisations from both countries gathered in Berlin.
“For decades, German and Polish scientists have established a very strong and fruitful cooperation. We believe that the same potential lies in the cooperation of science support organisations. In the face of the current crises, we must make every effort to build trust between us. Our bilateral activities also have a positive impact on the academic community in neighbouring countries, including Ukraine, which is currently in need of our helping hand”, said Professor Maciej Żylicz, President of the Foundation for Polish Science.
